Anna Glover x H&M: more collabs like that please !
April 27, 2018
Very recently, H&M launched a collab with designer Anna Glover. Google hardly knew her before that event but she’s a known textile/surface designer, working mainly for home decoration if I understood well.
I opted for the two patterns in the above picture.
First, this blouse. The pattern is really nice BUT the shade of yellow is actually a bit greenish, like a pastel neon yellow. Not too convinced but it would have given it a try if the material wasn’t that synthetic and hot. Plus I had sized up for a loose fit but that was too much. I couldn’t imagine wearing it under the sun, so I had to return it.
The pattern is delicate and exquisite. The shade is an off-black dark green, very subtil. I’m a total fan of the jumpsuit effect without the inconvenient (it’s easy to dress/undress and you can wear a jacket over it: double check). Just the sleeves are oddly shaped. I’d rather have classic kimono sleeves but anyway.
FYI, I took my usual tailored trousers size and I did well (otherwise the elastic waist band would be too tight). The length is perfect to wear with mid/high hells (I’m 1,65m) but I will probably wear it with flats (I can fix it easily though). I took my shirt size for the top and could have sized down.
Have you fallen for the Anna Glover capsule ? Tell me in comments !
Why that is an exceptional collab
That capsule is interesting in different ways. For once, it is not a luxury collab. And the prices remain as low as usual H&M prices. I would have appreciated better fabrics though (and could have spent a bit more for that, it’s a collab after all). Most of all, the sizing is usual H&M sizing, meaning no segregation for plus sizes (not usual for a capsule). Thank you Anna Glover and H&M ! Therefore, many items up to XL (yes, yes, yes, patterns for everyone !).
